R22 Phaseout
Over the last decade or so, the EPA has been working on the phaseout of R22 refrigerant. As of January 2020, the refrigerant has been fully discontinued and production/importation has come to an end. The only available refrigerant has come from the few suppliers that have the occasional back-stock. This has led to older leaking systems becoming unrepairable and in need of replacement. Attached to this post, you will find the EPA literature explaining the phaseout.
The upfront cost of purchasing a new system can be a hurdle for many individuals, however, replacing the leaking or faulty equipment can be the most long run cost-effective decision. At Mission Heating and Air, we strive to help our customers overcome these situations by having competitive pricing and great financing options!
